Gunther Newcombe

Gunther graduated from Manchester University with a BSC & MSC in Geology and joined BP in London as a geologist in 1980 after working for 3 years as a well-site engineer and geologist.
Assignments followed in Germany, China, Aberdeen, Norway, Indonesia, Houston and Venezuela with Gunther experiencing all aspects of geology ranging from frontier exploration utilising satellite and field geology to reactivation of oilfields in the Orinoco delta of Venezuela.
In 1996 Gunther returned to the North Sea taking on a number of business management roles in the Central North Sea, West of Shetland and finally running BP’s onshore terminals and pipeline business. In 2004 Gunther was posted to Baku as HSSE VP supporting BP’s operations in Azerbaijan, Georgia and Eastern Turkey. In October 2007 Gunther returned to the North Sea to lead a newly established team accountable for BP’s North Sea decommissioning programme which included NW Hutton, Miller and Don Field projects. In September 2009 Gunther was made VP Decommissioning for BP E&P, a role which has a global strategic and planning remit. |

Jules is the Principal Technical Expert for well abandonments for Shell globally. He is also the planning Lead for well abandonments with Shell in Europe. Jules chairs the Oil and Gas UK industry workgroup on well abandonments in Great Britain and also the industry workgroup Best Practices in the Netherlands. He is involved with the Well P&A Forum in Norway.
Jules has 27 years experience in drilling and well engineering. He has held a variety of posts throughout the world for Shell. |

1982 to 1992 Managing Director of United Towing Ltd., the UK’s leading ocean towage and marine salvage company.
1984 to 1992 Member of the Executive Committee of the International Salvage Union, (ISU).
1990 to 1992 Vice President of the ISU. Appointed Special Adviser to ISU in 1992.
1992 to 2007 Marine Consultant to London solicitors.
2005 appointed Secretary General, International Salvage Union.
Involved in drafting; LOF 1980, 1990, 1995, 2000 and 2011; 1989 Salvage Convention; SCOPIC Clause; original and latest editions of BIMCO ‘TOWCON’ & TOWHIRE’, as well as ‘WRECKFIXED’, ‘WRECKSTAGE’ & ‘WRECKHIRE’.

| Jerry Gilmore has over 37 years of construction and operations experience in the oil & gas industry. The majority of his experience has been in the fabrication, installation, and abandonment of Gulf of Mexico platforms, facilities, and pipelines, and he has also managed domestic onshore facilities and related construction projects. Mr. Gilmore has held positions of Vice President of Operations, Vice President of Projects, Construction Department Manager, Project Manager and Project Engineer at Natural Gas Pipeline Company of America, Pennzoil Exploration and Production Company (presently Devon Energy), and consultant to El Paso Energy Corporation and at Proserv Offshore, Inc. Presently, he is President of TSB Offshore, Inc. His departmental management and project management skills have been utilized for planning, budgeting, engineering, permitting, fabrication, installation, start-up, and performing maintenance and decommissioning activities. He has been involved in the abandonment and reefing of many Gulf of Mexico platforms and facilities. Mr. Gilmore has worked closely with operations and drilling departments supporting day-to-day production operations. He holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Texas A&M University-Kingsville, TX and is a licensed Professional Engineer (Texas). |

Based in CMS Cameron McKenna's Aberdeen office since 2000, where she has been a partner since 2007, she regularly advises both operators and contractors worldwide on upstream contracts including gas sales agreements, transportation agreements, services, construction and drilling contracts. She supported Oil and Gas UK in the drafting of the industry template decommissioning security agreement. She also supported the industry workgroup updating the UK industry's standard JOA and is currently on the OGUK work group addressing decommissioning tax relief. |

He has worked on oil & gas decommissioning and pipeline issues for over 23 years and has carried out decommissioning studies/work on over 700 offshore installations worldwide. He has worked on decommissioning in Africa, Australia, SE Asia, South America, Canada, Greece, Mexico, Norway, Ireland, UK and USA. Dr Twomey has presented over 100 papers on decommissioning and has given numerous public and private training courses on all aspects of decommissioning. |

Andrew was educated at the University of Aberdeen where he received an MA (Hons) in Economics and later attended the Robert Gordon University to progress an MBA after a number of years in industry and professional services.
As CEO of Douglas-Westwood he is responsible for the strategic direction and overall management of the specialist energy advisory business globally, overseeing the research, advisory, and merger and acquisition (M&A)diligence service lines. Previously at Ernst & Young, Andrew engaged as an M&A advisor exclusively focused on the energy industry managing a series of buy-side and sell-side mandates, in addition to valuations, strategic reviews, and corporate development projects.
Andrew also has extensive experience as an energy analyst including market modelling, forecasting, and due-diligence studies and was also a sell-side equity analyst responsible for European oil service coverage with investment bankers Simmons & Company. Previously he held a commercial role within a major oil service business.
Within the energy markets, Andrew is a regular contributor to industry publications and the wider broadcast media having penned a number of articles and opinions within specialist journals and the international press, including television appearances on the BBC and the CNBC business channel. In addition he is a regular presenter at industry conferences and events worldwide. |

| Delaney Olstad is the Product Line Champion for Decommissioning Services over the Western Hemisphere. In that role he provides technical assistance to further develop and expand the decommissioning, intervention and well abandonment product lines and resources. Delaney graduated from the Colorado School of Mines and began his professional career with Weatherford over 12 years ago. He started with Weatherford as a Design Engineer working in the Well Intervention Services Sustaining Engineering group. He then progressed on to a Project Engineer over the Thru-Tubing product line. After several years with Thru-Tubing, he took an Engineering Supervisor position with the Tubular Running Services R&D group. After working with TRS, he took on the role of the U.S. Region Engineer for the Fishing and Re-Entry Product Lines. During that time he began working with the Decommissioning Services product line and ultimately become the Product Line Champion. Delaney brings passion and enthusiasm for the product line as he promotes the business. |
